While reading in class the previous month, my teacher (we’ll call him Mr. T) brought upon an interesting idea- breath versus depth. We were reading and he told us to at least read the breath of the novel and then go through the depth when you had time. This started to spur a thought in the back of my mind that wouldn’t leave: the idea of the events pertaining to your life (depth) compared to how long you have lived (breath). When I first saw this quote on Instagram, it really brought back Mr. T’s lecture. I find this quote really fascinating because of how true it is. All the little things that have happened in our lives will be more important than how long we’ve lived. I’d rather live the depth of my life rather than the width.
